INTERPRETING IRAQ follows TF 1-21, a battalion of soldiers originally trained as rocket and cannon artillery troops, chemical soldiers, cooks and mechanics serving in Southern Baghdad as infantrymen fighting in combat.

As the unit gears up for the January 2005 Iraqi Elections, they also embark on a mission to save the life of their interpreter, Fadi "Freddie" Fahil, who has been targeted by insurgents for working with the Americans.

Giving a voice to both Iraqi locals and American soldiers in a place where nothing is black and white, Interpreting Iraq embarks on a desperate search for
meaning during these fiercely complex and terrifying times.
